Set in the north-west region of Central America (near future in Colombia & Venezuela) "Delta Force: Angel Falls" takes the player to the rural, sparsely populated, jungle areas of this exotic locale. Avoiding the over-exposed Middle Eastern settings; the South American environment provides a premise which is naturally beautiful and full of new millennium conflicts.
Marginal governments, involved in local expansionism, continually scuffle with one another and with major global powers. Complicating the setting, drug cartels have evolved beyond money and violencedriven entities to political forces rivaling established governments. Influenced by current events, the game is both topical and novel.
The sometimes local philosophy of "your enemy is my friend and your friend is my enemy" gives rise to a multitude of ever-changing alliances and conflicts which drive the game's rapid action and easy-to-digest back-story. The culmination of the conflict takes place in the Angel Falls area of Venezuela providing both a spectacular setting and a surprise ending.
July 2009 release date. And on CD-ROM...? :D

| Secret Men's Business (SMB) mod :: Posted by: chakata on September 13th |
I am pleased to announce the release of the Secret Men's Business (SMB) mod for Joint Operations. This mod has been played and developed in the COOPVETS organisation for approximately 2 years and we have now decided to share it with the public. Now, if you are looking for a mod with a myriad of personal weapons and other gimmicks ,...well don't bother downloading this mod as this is not what we are about. In fact many of the multitude of rifles etc. have been made unavailable, partly because of the technical reason of freeing up memory and also because many of the weapons are so similar that we see no real point in having so many variations. The main reason we constructed this mod was to get back to a concept that was much loved by COOPVETS membership in the TASK FORCE DAGGER era in which we played the game as combat medics with the aim of completing the coop maps ,including all players into the TEAM and we'd always try to 'med' fallen players even if it meant extreme risk to self, endeavouring to do so. Of course as time passed Novalogic released Joint Operations ,which brought the new and exciting use of tanks, boats, helos etc and the International Conflict team released their fantastic IC mod series which has futher enhanced the game. However a few of us at COOPVETS regretted the multi character system of play and the need to change to a medic character (with basic weaponry) in order to 'med' other players. In SMB we have returned to the TFD concept and encourage everybody to play the game as a combat medic with all the armory available to that character type. As you setup your character as a medic , you may also choose many uniform variations, some with country flag badges (which at the time reflected COOPVETS membership) and also many uniform variations of a generic type with no flags. At this time choose your entry weapon. Another feature of the SMB mod is almost the entire library of JO/JOE/IC coop maps will now play without the need for you to have anything other than JO originally installed. To play these maps it has been necessary to include assets from these other game mods and we wish to acknowledge the original models by the IC team (and others). We may have reskinned some minor models slightly but our object was not to detract from their original state but only to make this mod a bit more generic. We have added a few new models of our own ( independently and prior to ICE) and in the spirit of further enhancement of the series, willingly share these with any team that wish to use them. Unfortunately as we have no official icon to be spotted in the lobby, hosted games appear as a JO icon so we ask hosts to put a reference to SMB in their server name so that others may recognise this mod type.
For map makers: new models are,
Icebergs (some static and some which sway)
Ice sheets
Snow bridge(destroyable centre piece)
Semi Truck( can carry tanks, etc and has armory)
Boom Gate (opening)
Emplaced mortar( useable and can attach bgs to)
6m sliding gate
lever (intended to be used ,with event as an alternative instead of having to shoot a radio etc to open door)
Floating sea mine
Wheelie bins (destroyable /opening lid)
dynamite bomb
Tomahawk Cruise missile
Torpedo
Helicopter Carrier Support Ship (HCSS) with spawn point, farp and armory
Jetpack
Submarine (drivable but regretably not submerge-able)
Zodiac (with working outboard)
Windmills
Harrier aircraft (3 variations of missile/aa missile/machine gun)
Both the Tomahawk and Torpedo are intended to be used for effect using a med launch event and piloted with invi02 and otherwise disabled ingame so as not to allow players to ride them (as this would look a bit stupid...lol)
The SMB mod is available from the COOPVETS site at www.coopvets.com or from www.avicom.com/d2 and we hope that you'll enjoy this concept. COOPVETS welcomes new members and play many of your favourite online games. JO/JOE/IC and now ICE are played and loved by many of the membership too in their 'pure' form also.

| NHQ one year older. :: Posted by: Steve on August 10th |
Well it's just a touch over 7 years ago NovaHQ was created! (yes we forgot again).
Yep, 7 years ago two ickle sites became one and we've gone from strength to strength and a couple of name changes. Hopefully we'll see a reverse in proceedings in terms of site numbers and add some new ones to our world domination plan - The Gaming HQ!
Another quiet year from NovaLogic but we're still kicking :) You never know we might have Angel Falls by our 8th birthday?
Big thanks to the admins for keeping things moving and big thanks to all the members for submitting content and spamming the forums :)
So when's the party Scott? |

| NovaWorld Update :: Posted by: Chrispy on August 9th |

Is that Angel Falls?!
And look at this:
quote: We are currently working to improve Novaworld and to add new service. In the short term, We don't expect any outages, but machines are being moved and hardware is being replaced so some outages may occur.
In few weeks, Novaworld will be moved to a higher bandwidth location. This will cause an outage of a day or so as domains are repointed.
This move should positively affect Land Warrior servers, Match Making, Novaworld.com, as well as Black Hawk Down, Joint Operations and Delta Force Xtreme stat servers.
Additional work is being done asynchronously on server deployment and server hardware.
